Inside Line Promotions - ORANGEVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2019) - Joey Amantea competed in both a non-wing and winged micro sprint during the two-day Blaise Alexander Memorial at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks last weekend.

"It always seems we are going back and forth between good nights and bad luck," he said. "One of these weeks we're going to put it all together, but I'm glad we showed speed."

Friday night began with a lot of promise as Amantea started sixth in a heat race and raced forward two positions to finish fourth. He would've qualified for the A Main, but unfortunately the brake reservoir broke during the heat race and without a spare Amantea was not able to finish the night.

"We got so much mud packed into the car during the heat that it snapped the brake reservoir and really wasted a good opportunity," he said. "The car was extremely fast beforehand so we just kind of took that positive and moved on to Saturday."

On Saturday night Amantea strapped on a wing and came back looking for redemption. He timed in 31st overall, which put him fifth in a heat race. Amantea passed two cars to finish third. A sixth-place outing in a B Main earned the final starting position into the main event. Amantea moved forward five positions in the feature to finish 17th.

"The night started off really rough and we just didn't have a lot of speed," he said. "But come feature-time we really turned it around and we actually passed more cars than the finish shows. If we'd timed in better I think we had a car capable of contending."

The season is scheduled to conclude this weekend during the Linda's Speedway National Open in Jonestown, Pa., Friday and Saturday.

Following a competitive season at Linda's Speedway Amantea feels he has accomplished almost everything he can at the track except for a win.

"I feel like every time we go to Linda's we are picking off top fives and top 10s and we have a really good program there," he said. "Anything less than a top 10 will be a disappointment this weekend, but I feel we have a great chance to park it in Victory Lane as well."
