Bardstown, KY-July 30, 2011- Officials with the American Modified Series and Bluegrass Speedway were forced to postpone the 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble scheduled for this evening at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY due to inclement weather that moved into the area.
With time trials in the books and first two heat races complete, light rains showers started falling just as the third heat race was set to take the green, making the race surface unsafe for competition. The rains would quit for a short time, allowing track officials to begin working the track back into shape, but the rain showers would return and would force track and series officials to postpone the remainder of the program.
The 11th Annual Bluegrass Rumble event has been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday September 17. The event will be an entire new racing program since the A-Main event had not been set before the inclement weather appeared. This event will now serve as the American Modified Series 2011 season finale at this point.
The next scheduled event on the American Modified Series tour will now take place on Saturday August 13 as the open wheel warriors of the AMS bring their brand of UMP DirtCar Modified action to the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, IN for the Monster Mod 40, paying $1,500 to the winner of the event.
The American Modified Series presents UMP Modified sanctioned dirt track sports entertainment at racing venues throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.
