American Modified Series 11th Annual Mod Squad Bash Goes at Bluegrass Speedway June 4

Glasgow, KY-May 29, 2011- After two straight rainouts, the American Modified Series returns to action by kicking off the month of June with the baddest racers in America without front fenders invading Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY on Saturday June 4 for the 11th Annual Mod Squad Bash, paying $1,500 to the winner.

On Saturday June 4 at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY, the American Modified Series will present a full program of practice, group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win 11th Annual Mod Squad Bash A-Main event. Other divisions in competition at Bluegrass Speedway on June 4 will be the track’s 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman racing for $500 to win.

Activities for the June 4 at Bluegrass Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:00 p.m., with green flag racing at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the June 4 Bluegrass Speedway event will see general admission ticket prices be $15, with children ages 6 to 12 admitted at $5, and ages 6 and under free, while a pit pass will be $30.

The A-Main purse for the June 4 Bluegrass Speedway event is as follows: 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $750, 3rd- $600, 4th- $550, 5th- $500, 6th- $450, 7th- $400, 8th- $350, 9th- $325, 10th- $300, 11th- $275, 12th- $250, 13th- $230, 14th- $220, 15th through 22nd- $200 to start. Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY is the defending champion of this race event.

Bluegrass Speedway is a ½ mile high-banked clay oval promoted by David and Anita Ferrell. Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. The American Modified Series last competed on May 13 at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, IN and Ryan Thomas would win what would be the series opener for the tour that features some of America’s toughest racers without front fenders. Last week’s May 27 event at Moler Raceway Park was rained out and rescheduled for Friday July 1.
