(Paducah, KY) It all came down to one final night at Paducah International Raceway as the sun set on the Chevy Silverado Sunset Promotion.

The air was filled with excitement as the qualifiers from throughout the racing season at PIR gathered for a great night of racing with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series making it’s first appearance ever at PIR and the hopes of being the qualified contestant that would be holding the key to open the locked box containing the keys to the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pace Truck.

One by one the contestants names were drawn in order to determine the order in which they would choose their key from a bag held by PIR Co-Owner and Midwest Promoter Bob Sargent. After all of the contestants had their keys in-hand, the process of elimination began with each contestant coming one by one to the box to try the keys in the padlock. Jack Johnson started the process only to be rejected by a key that would not work. On the 6th try, Steve Elliott of Cunningham, Kentucky slid the key that was in his possession into the lock and unlocked the padlock to the locked box that contained the keys to the 2007 Chevy Silverado Pace Truck. Elliott however, was not the winner. Elliott was the proxy for Sidney Crowell who was unable to attend the drawing due to a prior commitment. Crowell did make her way to the track to find out that she had won the new Chevrolet Silverado courtesy of Paducah International Raceway and Chevy Racing, a division of Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located off Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky. For more information call the PIR hotline at 270-448-4PIR, the track at 270-898-SHOW (7469). Check out the PIR Website at www.paducahinternationalraceway.com or www.paducahracing.com.
