Lebanon, MO; The Lebanon I-44 Speedway is going to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend in “Grand” fashion this Saturday night when it hosts the Baby Grand Stockcars for the first time of the 2010 Season. The Modifieds will have extra money on tap for this Saturday, as they will all have a shot at an extra $150 in the Carget Motors Dash for Cash before their 20 lap feature.

The “Grand Re-Opening” of I-44 Speedway filled the Budweiser Wild Side and the drivers did not disappoint, giving the fans great racing including a husband and wife photo finish. The first race of the Monster Energy Chase for the Cup also brought some familiar names to victory lane from years past with dominating performances by former asphalt drivers Scott Atkinson and Tony Jackson, Jr. Week two of the chase will feature Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Chargers along with the Baby Grands. “The Baby Grands have always been a fan favorite here, and have always put on a great show,” said track manager Brennon Willard. The last Baby Grand Champion at the speedway was Carl Edwards in 2002, before moving on to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2003.

The Carget Motors Dash for Cash, a 6 car, 5 lap, winner take all “Shootout” for the top 6 qualifiers out of the heat race is back for the rest of the season. The Carget Motors Dash for Cash will feature a different division each week, with the Modifieds getting their shot this week for the extra money. “We are very excited to have this for the rest of the season”, said Willard. “It is great to have a local business like Carget give the both the racers and fans something exciting like this each week.”

The regular schedule will resume this week with gates opening at 5:00, hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. Grandstand tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for juniors (ages 11-15) and free for kids 10 and under.
