Billy Smith & Kasey Nations Wins Both Nights of Labor Day Show at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (Sept. 4-5, 2004) Billy "The Kid" Smith of Park Hills and Kasey Nations of Park Hills were both double-feature winners at the St. Francois County Raceway during it's special two-day Labor Day show over the weekend. Smith captured both features in the Modified class while Nations won both features in the Sportsmen class.

In the Modifieds on Saturday, Smith was the feature winner with Jeremy Greenwalt taking second place, John Bohn was third with Mike Francis fourth and Kenny Kennedy fifth. They were followed by Joe Giesler, Brent Thompson, Timmy Hill, Mike Crader and Kasey Burch. Smith won the first heat race with Greenwalt winning the second, Nick Todtenhaupt the third and Bohn the fourth.

In the Sportsmen class, Nations captured the checkered flag in the feature with Matt Eaton second, Doug Savage third, Chuck Adams fourth and Kevin Mosier fifth. They were followed by Jason Keller, Tom Smallwood, Billy Mayberry, Leonard Betsch and Charles Adams. Nations won the first heat race with Smallwood taking the second.

In the Sprint car feature, Jerrod Hull held off Joey Montgomery for the victory with Jason Keith third, Tommy Worley Jr. fourth and Alex Shanks fifth. They were followed by Derek O'Dell, Daniel Adler, Jimmy Hurley, Steve Short and Kent Buckley. Worley won the first heat with Shanks the second, O'Dell the third and Timmy Moss the fourth heat. Jason Hunt won the "C" main with Bryan Matthews the "B" main. Hull won the trophy dash with Terry Babb second and Jeff Davis third.

Zach Barr was the 600cc Multi feature winner on Saturday with Tom Dickerman second, Brad Loyet third, Rodney Williams fourth and Conner Thompson fifth. They were followed by Jeremy Boyer, Tommy Boyd, Dave Chilton, Ray Statler and Andy Malpcolker. Williams won the first heat with Barr the second and Dickerman the third.

On Sunday night, Joey Montgomery won the sprint car feature with Jason Keith second, Tommy Worley Jr. third, Jerrod Hull fourth and Jimmy Hurley fifth. They were followed by Steve Short, A.J. Bruns, Daniel Adler, Jay Landolt, and Derek O'Dell. Short won the first heat with Matthews the second and Keith the third. Timmy Moss won the "B" main with Joey Montgomery winning the trophy dash (Matthews and O'Dell finished second and third in the dash respectively).

In the Modified class feature again it was Billy Smith winning it with Brent Thompson second, Tommy Worley Sr. third, Timmy Hill fourth and Adam Parmeley fifth. They were followed by John Bohn, Lou Driemeier, Kenny Kennedy, Nick Todtenhaupt and R.C. Hovis. Chris Boyd won the first heat race with Kennedy taking the second heat and Worley the third.

In the Sportsmen class, Kasey Nations picked up the feature win with Doug Savage second, Matt Eaton third, Kevin Mosier fourth and Mike Nicholson fifth. They were followed by Brad Mashek, Kenny Harris, Leonard Betsch, Billy Mayberry and Randy Forster. Nations and Betsch were the heat race winners.

In the 600cc Multi class, Tom Dickerman was the feature winner on Sunday with Rodney Williams second, Brian Steele third, Casey Barnhouse fourth and Jimmy Bridgeman fifth. They were followed by Zach Barr, David Zarski, Andy Moss, Eric Ziegler, and Eric Giessing. Dickerman, Steele and Williams were the heat race winners.

Racing action continues at the St. Francois County Raceway this Saturday night. The Legend Cars will be on hand and "Spirit Wing" of Missouri Baptist College will be on hand for the special patriotic show.
