(Muscatine, IA) Brian Birkhofer Racing looks to continue the success that he had in the 2002 racing season, as he prepares to open the “Way 2 Dirty Tour 2003” at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, FL this coming week. The “Winternationals” are held each year at the racy 1/3-mile semi-banked clay oval outside of Tampa. This year’s edition of the “Winternationals” kicks off on Monday, February 3 with a Renegade DirtCar Series event paying $5,000 to the winner. Other Renegade events throughout the week include a $7,000 to win show on Tuesday and a $12,000 to win feature event on Friday night. Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday’s events will be held under the Xtreme DirtCar Series banner and will pay $5,000, $7,000, and $15,000 respectively.
The latter two Xtreme events will be taped by the SPEED channel for airing later on this spring.
After East Bay, Brian and his team will head to Daytona Beach, FL to compete in UMP sanctioned events at Volusia County Speedway from February 10-15. Each feature event will pay $5,000 to the winner with the exception of the final night, which will pay $10,000.
Brian will open the 2003 season with basically the same package of equipment and sponsors as he had in his successful 2002 campaign. He will once again pilot a MasterSbilt chassis and have a Pro Power Racing Engine under the hood. Sponsorship for this season comes from Seubert Calf Ranches, Daufeldt Transport, Double Eagle Sales & Embroidery, McDonalds of the Quad Cities, AFCO Racing Products, Duralite Wheels, and AllStar Performance. Tee-Ray and Captain Kirk are back wrenching on the #15B this year, so everything is in line for Brian Birkhofer Racing to have another tremendous season in 2003.
