XDCS CHAMPION SCOTT BLOOMQUIST TO APPEAR ON ‘WIND TUNNEL’
Charlotte, NC --- Record-setting five time Xtreme Dirt Car Series (XDCS) champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN will be the special in-studio guest of noted motorsports journalist Dave Despain when the pair face off on the WIND TUNNEL television program broadcast on SPEED Channel. Bloomquist will guest for the majority of the program with Despain on Tuesday evening October 29. WIND TUNNEL airs from 9:00 – 10:00 PM EST on SPEED.
The special appearance by Bloomquist, a national dirt Late Model star driver, comes on the heels of Bloomquist’s record-setting weekend in early October at West Virginia Motor Speedway when the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame inductee captured not only his unprecedented 100th career XDCS victory but also an unmatched fifth XDCS championship title.
Bloomquist’s previous XDCS championship titles came in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 2000. His record-setting 100 XDCS wins took just over a decade to accomplish, beginning on February 27, 1993 at Waycross Motor Speedway in Waycross, GA.
Bloomquist’s record season came aboard his Miller Brothers Coal sponsored Bloomquist Race Cars/Custom Racing Engines/ Hawkeye Trucking/Team Smart/All Star Performance/Hoosier Racing Tires Ford Taurus #0.
“They don’t get any easier, they keep getting tougher,” commented Bloomquist. “No one out here lays down or gives you anything. It’s just kind of a relief because point racing is a little different. To some degree not as enjoyable but because of the big picture of it sometimes that’s all people remember about the season is who won the title.”
While Bloomquist will appear for the majority of the WIND TUNNEL program, one segment will feature guest Frank Kimmel, also a five-time champion. Kimmel is the ARCA RE/MAX Series driving champion in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003. Kimmel will discuss with Bloomquist and Despain his fifth ARC RE/MAX championship title.
“The Xtreme Dirt Car Series is a member of the SPEED Channel family and it was a natural fit to have our newly crowned champion appear on Mr. Despain’s WIND TUNNEL program,” said Doug Bland, President of the XDCS.
