Kelly Boen flies from the tenth place starting position to capture night one of Thunder on the Hill. Henderson Colorado's, Boen was lightning fast from the start of the evening. The 07 Cornett powered Rockett is only two weeks old. The new car proved to be a keeper, awarding Boen his 17th career win with the Lucas Oil MLRA. The Road Runner Fabrication and Peterson Fluid Systems sponsored race car has been in the Lucas Oil MLRA Victory Lane 5 times in the 2010 season.

Terry Phillips would battle with Al Purkey for the top spot through the first few laps of the Lucas Cattle Company A Feature. Phillips would lead Purkey into turn one on lap two. Points leader Brad Looney of Republic, Missouri would battle with Boen early in the race for position. While Boen and Looney fought for the third spot the 25 of Chad Simpson pulled away from the two slightly. The 33 of Al Purkey would catch Phillips and run side by side for the lead before a caution on lap 10. The 15 of Jason O'Brien would make a quick pit stop and return to the track after bringing out the only caution of the 25 lap feature. After the restart Phillips and Purkey would remain out front with Boen closing in quickly. At lap 13 Boen would dive down to the inside of turns 3 and 4 to take both Purkey and Phillips for first. Boen continued to put track between the second place contenders until the checkers flew.

Boen was followed by Chad Simpson and Terry Phillips. Simpson was able to squeak by Purkey and Phillips to take home a second place finish. Purkey edged out Brad Looney for the fourth spot in the finishing order, tying the Lucas Oil MLRA 2010 Points leader for first. Both Looney and Purkey have new cars. Looney took his 2010 Victory Circle M1 by Moyer for its first laps around a track Friday in Mayetta. Purkey's new colors look sharp on the new Shaw by Purkey that is only three races old. Jeremy Payne finished just in front of 2nd place points contender Dave Eckrich. Eckrich remains just 22 points behind the tied leaders. Hermitage, Missouri's Eric Turner came home in 8th with Alan Vaughn and Jack Sullivan making up the remainder of the top ten.
