Boland Performance MSCCS Rookie Candidates Rolling In!

Columbus, MS-A fine list of Boland Performance Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Rookie of the Year candidates have already rolled in with more expected based on verbal commitments. Time is of the essence as the 2004 MSCCS season opener is quickly approaching as the action will get underway March 6th at South Mississippi Speedway for the $5,000 to win “Frostbite 50” at the Gulfport, Mississippi area racing facility located beside I-10. Interest in all aspects of the 2004 22-race tour for the MSCCS is outstanding as many of the hardest charging drivers in the country will soon be going wheel to wheel competing for the 2004 Mississippi State Championship crown and other posted awards for their efforts.

Early entrants are throwing their name into the fray for the first ever MSCCS Rookie of the Year battle with the first entry received being that of Meridian, Mississippi’s Larry Murphy in his familiar #27 GRT racecar. The second entry is Greg Fore of Greenville, Mississippi representing the Delta region in his #77 GRT mount. Also officially entered from the northern most region of the state is Corinth, Mississippi’s Mark Sartain in his Hunting Catalog/Harper Valley Café/Mississippi One CALL System sponsored #20 GRT with a Christian power-plant.



Jackson area racer David Molpus is also on board the high powered tour driving his #514 Don Molpus powered Mastersbilt racer. The latest entry and representing the state of Louisiana is “The Intimigator” Chris Wall of Holden, Louisiana driving his #71 GVS Racing sponsored Wall-2-Wall powered Rocket chassis Monte Carlo.



Needless to say, a bumper crop of contenders are assembling to challenge for not only the $1,000 Boland Performance Rookie of the Year award or the newly announced $500 award for second place in 2004 RotY points, but also for the overall Mississippi State Champion title chase. Drivers and teams interested in competing for the Boland Performance Rookie of the Year title need to complete the RotY application and need to contact Charles and Jannie Thrash at 601-917-2335 in the days and 601-482-5251 during the evening.



The MSCCS would also like to welcome on board the fine group with Schaeffer’s Oil who will be providing contingency based product sponsorship throughout the 2004 tour. Companies wishing to participate in the MSCCS sponsor program need to contact Charles Thrash for more information.



MSCCS action will kick off on March 6th with a $5,000 to win $300 to start event at South Mississippi Speedway conveniently located alongside I-10 in Long Beach, Mississippi.
