(MARION, IL) The dirt flies at Bond County Raceway on Saturday, July 9, with the first of six races in the Bond County Raceway “Sizzlin’ Six” Championship Series. The “Sizzlin’ Six” will feature Fastrak Midwest Region Late Models, Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Factory Stocks and 600cc Outlaw Multis.

Fastrak Midwest Region Late Model promoters Kevin and Scott Ferguson are organizing the series, and look forward to racing at Bond County. “We have been talking to the Fair Board for a while about this, and we are really happy to be able to put on these shows,” Scott said. “It gives drivers a shot at a track championship that may be out of the points at their home track, and we will have trophies and plaques for the top ten in each class when the series ends.”

Opening night is Fan Appreciation night with $5 grandstand entry for adults, children 12 and under free. Concessions will be available and coolers are allowed in the grandstands. On hand will be the Fastrak Midwest mascot Dirt Hound, giving away t-shirts and balloons for the kids. For the adult fans, there will be the traditional Tennis Ball Toss before the Fastrak Feature, with coupons and cash stuffed inside for the lucky winners.

Rules for each class are in line with existing rules at area tracks. Street Stock/Bomber cars legal at Highland, Godfrey, and Tri-City Speedway are legal for the “Sizzlin’ 6.” 4 Cylinder Factory Stocks include SOHC and DOHC cars. Payout and points structure can be found at Fastrak Midwest Region Late Models race for $1200 to win; Street Stock/Bombers $150 to win; 4 Cylinder Factory Stocks $100 to win; 600cc Outlaw Multis $200 to win.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m, grandstands at 5 p.m. Hotlaps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. Pit passes are $25. For more information call Fastrak Midwest, 618-993-1122 or 618-889-7643. Bond County Raceway is located at the Bond County Fairgrounds, 1 mile off Interstate 70 in Greenville, IL.
