(Warrensburg) The sun was shining giving the fans and drivers a weekend without the threat of rain at Warrensburg’s own, Central Missouri Speedway on Central Auto Racing Boosters (C.A.R.B.) Race Night. Everyone was pleased to be back into racing for the weekly championship points chases at the fastest high-banked clay oval in the Midwest.

Seventy-six drivers registered for racing and at the end of the evening Brad Smith of Belton took home the Waterloo Storage Product prize in the B-Modified division for his fourth feature win of the season. In the Street Stock A-main, John 'the Boomer" Brooks from Warrensburg claimed his third CMS feature victory this season, his ninety-second career CMS win. The ULMA Late Models presented their Triple Crown Shootout Trophies to Jason Bodenhamer, Bob Test and Steven Clancy at intermission for last weekend’s three-night point competition that finished up at CMS. In the weekly ULMA feature, Bodenhamer of Centerview claimed the checkers with his fourth victory lane celebration this year. In the ‘mighty’ Modified division, the hot streak of five-time feature winner Dustin Boney of Kansas City continued as he won for the sixth time this season with his family and teammates helping him celebrate the win in the Waterloo Storage Products Victory Lane, it was Boney’s twentieth career CMS win.

Celebrating (CARB) night the Kaster family graciously presented the Larry Kaster CARB awards to Luke Feeback from Harrisonville in the modifieds, Dave Meyer from Concordia with the ULMA Late Models, Brian Cox also out of Concordia in the Street Stocks, and Owen Evinger from Odessa in the B-Modified division.

The B-Modified heat races kicked-off the evening’s racing events with Nic Bennet claiming his second heat win of the year, Jacob Ebert took his fourth win, and Dean Wille secured his first to set the field for the feature. The B- Modified field included twenty drivers signed in for racing. In the main event, Wille and Lucas Isaacs paced the start of the field with Wille making the smooth move into the low-side to secure the early lead. Wille led the feature until lap nine when Smith dived to the low side to take the top spot after a yellow flag re-start when Ethan Isaacs almost turned over on turn three. Smith survived several re-starts and with the cross checkered flags flying, Smith took victory number four this season with a dominating performance at the front of the field. Wille made a strong run into second with Ebert coming home third, Dalton Kirk fourth, and Lucas Isaacs rounding out the top five.

Fourteen Street Stock drivers were signed in to resume their chase for the Championship with Brian Johnson taking his sixth win and Michael Mullins with his first heat win grabbing the victories and setting the table for the feature race field. The green flag flew with Johnson taking the early lead and Chad Eickleberry chasing him for the top spot until Eickleberry spun his machine in turn two. At the finish, John Brooks claimed his third CMS feature with Johnson looking strong again in second. Devin Irvin finished third, Eickleberry recovered to fourth after going tailback with a spin early in the event. Bryce McMillin continued his string of strong finishes by coming home in fifth.

The ULMA Late Model drivers were gunning for Jason Bodenhamer after his big victory last weekend during the annual ULMA track special. This weekend, twelve ULMA drivers registered in the pits with Brett Wood claiming heat race number one for his second heat victory of the year. Bob King drove to the win for this second heat win in the second qualifying event. For the main event, Wood and King battled early with King leading the early laps of the twenty-lap feature after a problem with Wood's machine relegated him towards the back. With the double checkers flying by race end, Jason Bodenhamer took the top spot with a celebration in Waterloo Victory Lane. Bob Test followed behind to the finish line in second, with Dave Meyer securing a strong finish in third place. King looked good in fourth with Lane Ehlert in fifth.

The modified drivers started their night of qualifying events with thirty drivers checked in for heat races and a B-Main to sort out the twenty-four starting positions for the main event. Heat race winners for CARB night included Tyler Schmidt for his first win at CMS in heat one; Dustin Boney took heat two for his sixth heat victory of the year. Mark Dotson pocketed heat number three for his third win and Shad Badder grabbed his first heat win this season in heat number four. The B-main sorted out the final eight transfer spots for the modifieds as Rick Beebe claimed the victory. The pole position went to Dustin Boney as a result of his earned passing points from the heat races with Shad Badder outside of him on the front row. Boney took the early lead after several re-starts from the twenty four anxious drivers. Mark Dotson had a tough night as he spun twice and was relegated to the pits. Boney looked strong throughout the race and after the early cautions the race continued through until the end with the finish line ahead of him and the checkers flying Dustin Boney triumphed for his sixth victory lane celebration this year at CMS. Badder crossed the line in second with Jim Moody just behind him in third; Joe Walker took fourth with Mickey Burrell in fifth.
