(LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer, of Lexington, Kentucky, debuted his #18 MB Customs Open Wheel Modified on Sunday, February 2 in the 12th edition of the 'Cabin Fever Shakedown.' The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series rolled into Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia and 18 open wheel competitors were in the pit area to do battle for the $1,200 top prize.

Brandon clicked off the second fastest lap overall during the time trial session and later placed second in his heat race. After starting the 25-lap main event from the outside of the second row, BK ran amongst the top five through much of his first Open Wheel Modified start before a slowly deflating tire caused him to fade to a seventh place effort. Complete results from Boyd's Speedway can be accessed online at www.ctpromotions.org.

"I thought we had a pretty good run for our first time in an Open Wheel Modified," quoted Kinzer earlier this week. "We showed speed early in the day and were running pretty strong in the feature - even though passing was at a premium. I think we ran over something on the racetrack and by the time I got out of the car in the pits after the race, our tire was completely flat. It was a lot of fun though and hopefully we can race more in this thing than we have the past few years in our Super Late Model."

The Kinzer Motorsports team is now slated to take some time off while the weather improves across Kentucky and the rest of the area. The next events currently on their schedule are April 17-18 in the states of Kentucky and Ohio. Iron-Man Modified Series action will heat back up on that Friday night at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky, as another $1,200 winner's check will be up for grabs. On that Saturday, Brandon will vie for the $1,000 paycheck in the season opener at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
