(Farmington, MO) – A J Bruns, Lincoln, IL drove his Bruns Service Center, Honey Hole Outfitters, Eagle Chassis mount to a “hat trick” on Saturday evening. Winning his heat, dash and feature events in convincing style.

The field would take the green with Bruns and veteran pilot Robbie Standridge setting a wicked pace. Also joining the chase were Jason Keith, Fredericktown, Mo., and Kent Buckley of Farmington.

Caution would wave the first time for Jason Keith as his sprinter had broke and forced him to retire from the event. On the restart “Doc” Sloan and Sean Zemunik got together. Zemunik has come across the water to run in the United States. He come from Perth, Western Australia. His adventure on this night would not be one to write home about. Steve Short brought out a caution for a spin as well.

Bruns finishes with the win, Standridge comes in second, Joey Montgomery gets third, Buckley settles with fourth, and Jarrod Hull finishes in fifth.

Bruns, as mentioned, won his heat and dash. Buckley and Short won the other heats.

Complete results at the end of the article. Twenty-two sprints were on hand.

Multi Division had a return visit to victory lane on Saturday. Ryan Kempin, Catawissa, MO, becomes the first two time winner in 2008 as he took control at the start of the event and led wire-to-wire. Although the event had troubles getting started. With two failed attempts at a side by side start, the race would eventually be started single file.

Kempin would get the jump at the start on board his Kempin Automotive, KT Motors, Centerline Auto Body entry. Jimmy Bridgeman and Austin Brown would persue the entire event, but coming up short at the finish. Brown would finish second, Bridgeman makes it to third, Brian Keen was fourth and Sam Miller rounds out the Top 5.

Fourteen Multi’s came to race Saturday Night.

Modified Division had a very good turnout, as 30 cars filled the pit area.

Mike Francis, Fredericktown, MO got the win. Driving his Ellis Battery, HMS, Flower Box entry. Francis had some work to do as Kasey Nation, Park Hills, Mo, and David Shepard, DeSoto, MO gave chase.

Nations, running third at the time, would smack the wall coming out of turn two. His car riding and bouncing off the wall. Came to rest half way down the back stretch. Hitting the wall very hard, he was removed from the car by emergency personnel and returned to his pit area. He did walk to the ambulance after the incident.

This would set up a Francis and Shepard duel. Shawn Griffins lapped machine was in the middle of the two front runners. Restart found Griffin getting into the wall on the front stretch brought out the final caution. This allowed Shepard to close up to the bumper of Francis and have good old shoot out for the win.

Francis held on for the win, Shepard followed in his tracks for second, Chris Boyd gets third, Jeremy Greemwalt, Potosi, Mo makes it to fourth and last weeks winner Brent Thompson, finishes fifth.

Boyd won his heat and the dash, Adam Parmeley, Shepard and Francis also won heats. Tommy Worley, Sr. claimed the win in the B-Main.

The Pure Street Division saw first time visitor Ray Dodd get his first ever feature win. A good handling car made it look easy for the Fredericktown, MO driver.

Starting on the front row along side, Bill Skaggs, Dodd zoomed to the front. Skaggs settled in behind and followed until he tore the center out of a wheel.

Last weeks winner John Bohn had a late race shot for the win, but came up a bit shy in the attempt. Bohn took the second place position, Brian Blair takes third, follwed by Mike Savage for fourth and Jimmy Farris completing the top five.
