Burch Edges Bohn At Wire For Modified Victory at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (June 18, 2005) Kasey Burch edged out John Bohn by the narrowest of margins Saturday night to win the Modified class feature at the St. Francois County Raceway. In fact Bohn had to be told by one of the photographers that he hadn't won the race while Burch had to be informed by his pit crew he had won. The fantastic race had the crowd on it's feet applauding the efforts of both of the Farmington drivers. Kenny Kennedy settled for third place with Danny Sissom fourth and Lou Driemeier fifth. They were followed by Pete Koenig, Tommy Worley Sr., Jeremy Greenwalt, Mike Francis and Jon Paul Reando. Bohn won the first heat race with Reando second and Sissom third. Burch won the second heat with Driemeier second and Koenig third. Kennedy won the third heat with Billy Smith second and Alan Conner third. Francis won the "B" main with Danny Resinger second and Chris Boyd third.

Timmy Montgomery sailed to victory in the Sprint Car feature with Jimmy Hurley second, Jason Keith third, Tommy Worley Jr. fourth and Keith Burch fifth. They were followed by Daniel Adler, Bryan Matthews, Jerrod Hull, Korey Weyant and Tiffany Wyzard. Burch won the first heat with Joey Montgomery second and Tyler Thompson third. Worley won the second heat with Hurley second and Jason Hunt third. Keith won the third heat with Timmy Montgomery second and Adler third. Timmy Montgomery won the trophy dash with Hurley second and Joey Montgomery third. Weyant won the "B" main with Nathan Higgins second and Steve Short third.

In the Sportsmen class, Kasey Nations won his seventh feature of the season by holding off Doug Savage for the win. Jimmy Cummins finished in third place with Randy Forster fourth and Matt Eaton fifth. They were followed by Kevin Mosier, Eric Sarakas, Donnie Mosier and Chris West. Savage won the heat race with Nations second and Cummins third.

In the Pure Street class, Mike Savage drove to victory lane after posting his victory in the feature. Theran Pearl was second with Mike Abney third, Josh DeSpain fourth and Bill Ames fifth. They were followed by Chris Webb, Ryan Robbins, Mark Sissom, Derek Shipman and Greg Chilton. Abney won the first heat with Shipman second and DeSpain third. Savage won the second heat with Webb second and Tommy Worley Sr. third.

In the 600cc Multi feature, Dave Chilton of Farmington was involved in an unbelievable accident as his car went airborne, into and through the fence before landing near the scale area. He was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center with multiple injuries. He was released on Sunday.

Dereck King was the feature winner with Andy Moss second with Dustin Barks third, Joey Boyd fourth and Kara King fifth. They were followed by Tyler Robbins, Jimmy Bridgeman, Mark Shirshekan, Rodney Williams and Tom Dickerman. Dereck King won the first heat race with Shirshekan second and Brandon Nixon third. Kara King won the second heat with Boyd second and Eric Ziegler third. Moss won the third heat with Keith Steele second and Brian Keen third.
