C.A.R.S. Crate Late Model Feature Race
The first lap of the first Crate A-Main of the year started with a two car wreck involving Steve Cole and Troy Jacobs. These two got together racing out of turn two, both cars were able to return to the race. Jeff Walston and Steve Cole raced for the lead going into turn three on the restart of the C.A.R.S. feature event. Walston pulled away from Cole as they went into turn two of lap two with Ed Pursell taking the third position.
There was a tight battle forming fo the fourth position between Brent Burnett, Danny Jolly and Brian Caudle. Burnett prevailed in this race taking over the fourth position.
The next caution fell on lap six when Louis Baker Jr. spun in turn two after racing for the sixth position. The restart to this caution saw Walston pick up where he left off. Walston pulled off into a fifteen car lead by lap eleven over the second place driver of Steve Cole. Jeff Walston lead an uncontested race from first to last lap taking the first C.A.R.S. Weekly Racing Series event of the 2006 racing season.
