Less than a week after announcing that Central Missouri Speedway and Valley Speedway will run their late models under the United Late Model Association (ULMA) banner, the association received even more great news from Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri, in that it will run under the ULMA banner and utilize ULMA rules for its late models in 2007. At Callaway, the Fastrak “CRATE” late models will also compete in the late model division using their own rules and regulations. This will create an exciting and challenging scenario for drivers and fans alike by having two separate late model entities competing in one division. Double X speedway in California, Missouri, has also adopted the ULMA rules package and will run its late model action under the ULMA banner. Although the popular Sunday night track had not yet finalized its schedule at the time of this release, ULMA officials have been told that the track’s late model rules package will be utilized on special race nights that include late model racing.

ULMA representatives are looking forward to this weekend’s “Bodee’s Racers’ Auction and Trade Show.” The board of directors will be manning a booth in order to sign up new members and answer questions about the association. This event will take place on Saturday, January 27th and Sunday, the 28th at the Missouri State Fairgrounds’ Mathewson Center, 2503 West 16th Street, Sedalia, Missouri. Doors open at 8 a.m. each day. Be sure to stop by and fill out your membership this weekend; don’t get left behind in the dust … getting on board with ULMA is a must! Members who have already paid their 2007 dues are encouraged to e-mail the association with a picture of their car to be uploaded on the ULMA Website.

The association learned today that Saturday, August 11th will be a special race event at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg, Missouri. This night will feature the ULMA late models competing in a special feature event with extra laps and prize money! It will also be a big night for CMS as the track will play host to its young fans for the ever-popular “Kids’ Night at the Races.” Fans of all ages will be treated to a variety of exciting events on the track from both the late models and the kids, who will actually compete on the track in foot races down the front straight-a-way. ULMA is currently working on additional special races to add to its inaugural schedule and will make official announcements as events are finalized.

The next ULMA meeting will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. in Sedalia, MO, at the Ramada Inn located at 3501 West 50 Hwy, near Wal-Mart. Please take the time to visit our Website at www.ulmaracing.com and be sure to bookmark it while you are there. We hope to see you this weekend at Bodee’s or at the February meeting!
