Why were they cancelled Sat. night?

This is true...no Challenge Series race this Wednesday @ Mt. Melvin. Rumor was that he could not cover the purse that was advertised....something like $7,500 short.

The races were canceled there on Saturday because of the Steel Block race @ Duquoin....they raced last Wednesday and had a very low Modified count for $1,000 to win.

Mt. Vernon raced last Wednesday (Aug. 20) and that is when they took the $7500 loss. Less than 100 fans in the stands I'm told.

With the highly increased purse for this Wednesday's show, they just couldn't take the chance on a huge loss again.

Mt. Vernon will run a normal show this Saturday!
