Brighton, CO (June 3,2013) - With 17 Championship Dirt Motorsports Late Model National Points races already under his belt in 2013 Garrett Alberson of LasCruces, New Mexico has jumped out to a 215 point lead over car owner Dave Deetz also of Las Cruces, New Mexico and a 276 point lead over one of his biggest rivals on the track RC Whitwell of Tucson, Arizona.
Alberson has 8 wins in 17 starts this year, 7 in the CDM New Mexico region and 1 in the CDM Texas/Kansas/Nebraska Region. Championship Dirt Motorsports only counts your top 15 points races with maximum points in one season being 1,200 so the only way that Alberson will be able to improve his points is by improving on his worst finishes. With 16 races under his belt in 2013 Dave Deetz is also in the same situation as Alberson. Arizona's hottest driver over the bast two year's, RC Whitwell, only has ran 9 CDM National points races in 2013, but he has two wins and has only finished outside the top six two times. If RC Whitwell continues his consistent pace and Alberson and Deetz are not able to improve any of there finishes Whitwell well pass them in the points standings by the time he reaches 15 race.
In the CDM Late Model Regional Points RC Whitwell of Tucson, AZ is leading the CDM Arizona Region, Dave Garmann of Brighton, CO is leading the CDM Colorado Region, Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, NM is leading the CDM New Mexico Region and Scott Logston of El Paso, TX is leading the CDM Texas/Nebraska/Kansas Region.
The next CDM Late Model National points races will be Saturday, June 8th where the CDM Colorado Late Models will race at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, CO. Then the drivers can make the 150 mile drive to Thomas County Speedway in Colby, Kansas to race with the CDM Super Late Model Series Presented by Indy Screen Print on Sunday, June 9th. The June 9th race will also be a points race for the CDM Texas/Nebraska/Kansas Late Models.
