CENTER LISLE, N.Y. (July 2) – IMCA Modifieds and the World Products Empire State Series join the Classic Weekend in the works for the upcoming holiday at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
The Sunday, July 4 Modified main event at Center Lisle pays $750 to win. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Eastern Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be given.
Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.
Spectator admission is $10 for adults and $8 for both seniors 60 and over and for students ages 10 to 17. Kids nine and under get in free. Pit passes are $30.
Free camping will be available throughout the Classic Weekend. Thunder Mountain’s regular Friday night program will be followed by family-oriented activities on Saturday that include a picnic, wagon rides, volleyball, horseshoe pitching, radio controlled car tracks and a DJ.

The series has already seen a pair of first-time winners in Lyle Smith and Gary Roberts. Defending champion Kevan Cook ran third in Skyline Raceway and Five Mile Point Speedway shows and brings the lead in the points race to TMS.
Tom Eiklor won series events at Thunder Mountain each of the last two years. Cook also took tour checkers at Center Lisle in 2009.
Brewerton Speedway hosts the fourth Empire State event of the season on July 30. If no additions are made to the schedule, that tour race will be the final event at which national, regional and state points are awarded.
