Clay Count (Flora) qualifying

I heard that they used hand held stop watches for qualifying at Clay County. Is this true and if so who was the person or persons doing the timing? Track Officials?

I'v been racing down there for the last four weeks and they havent been doing any of that. The only pill draw. I wish they would qualify though!

From what I understand it wasn't a track official, but the mother/wife of one of the drivers and her times were a little different than others on some of the drivers. Hmmmmmmmm...

does it really matter, the race is OVER. They dont usually run LMS there, and the regulars must not have a problem with it, so if you disagree dont go. Flora happens to be one of the best tracks around and cleanest racing Ive seen in a long time!

Robinson24; just tryin to verify what we heard-that Melvins mom and sister did the timing. Noone was told, in advance, that a hand held stop watch would be used or that a racers relatives would do the timing.

I wouldnt have a problem with the whole thing if it didnt have an element of human intervention that could have affected the results of the race.

If I remember right melvin didnt even have quick time so what is the issue I beleive he qualified 4th or 5th no big deal that wouldnt be suprising even with a time light so let it go if he would hsve qualified 1st then maybe a complaint but never the less he didnt so please stop complaning some of the best races ive seen especially the mods they was flying and it wasnt kinder doing the flyin HAHAHAHAHAHAH

melvin did have fast time. as far as his sister goes, she was a driver herself, she would not cheat for anyone. Burwells mom used to time at mt.vernon when he was winning all the time and nobody said a word. Rodney doesnt need anyone to cheat for him. His sister raced at Flora for a long time, they may have needed someone who knew what they were doing and could keep up, and knew she could. People just need to quit whining about Rodney.... after all he is the 2003 UMP Champ!

wasn't there, and do not know any of the persons involved.but...when you do something like that, you are BEGGING for controversy and accusations.in all levels of competitve sports, not just here.heard it was a good race, and a nice facility.good job,00.

Many drivers will make the big money tour this weekend including Melvin...

Thursday - Kankakee $2,000 to win
Friday - Kankakee $15,000 to win
Saturday - I-55 Raceway $10,000 to win
Sunday - Fayette County $5,000 to win

well they do not have a timing system so if you don't have one you do what you can. what did they do before they had electronic timing systems? besides, ump didn't seem to mind after all they qualified and raced didn't they. besides the ones that qualified well usually do good qualifing anyway.

Now i know why they dont usually qualify, Melvins mom should be ashamed of her self, i wonder if she put the traction control on the car,
