Clayton wins sprint feature at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Daron Clayton of Sikeston was a triple crown winner (winning his heat, the dash and the sprint car feature) at the St. Francois County Raceway Saturday night.

Jerrod Hull settled for second place with Joey Montgomery third, Timmy Montgomery fourth and Alex Shanks fifth. They were followed by Terry Babb, Rod Crabdree, Jeremy Standridge, Keith Burch and Greg Burns.

Babb won the first heat with Robbie Standridge second and Burns third. Joey Montgomery won the second heat with Daniel Adler second and Bob Thoman third. Hull won the third heat with Shanks second and Jeremy Standridge third. Clayton won heat four with Crabdree second and Timmy Montgomery third. Clayton won the dash with Joey Montgomery second and Hull third. There were 31 sprint cars in the pits Saturday night.

In the Hobby Stock class, Randy Forster of Farmington picked up his first feature win of the season by holding off the challenge of Jeremy Greenwalt for the victory. Greenwalt settled for second place with Doug Savage third, Kasey Nations fourth and Billy Mayberry fifth. They were followed by Jim Abshier, Bruce Boren, Jack Adams, Chuck Adams and Nathan Gibson.

Forster won the first heat with Jack Adams second and Mark Howell third. Chuck Adams won the second heat with Chris Boyd second and Doug Savage third.

Tim Hill picked up the feature win the Modified class with Pete Koenig taking second place, Kenny Kennedy was third with Billy Smith fourth and Dan Zander fifth. They were followed by Dean Resinger, Jim Swift, Phil King, Joe Kopp and Matt Zimmerly.
Tommy Worley Sr. won the first heat with Hill second and Zander third. Zimmerly won the second heat with Smith second and Koenig third.

Dustin Barks of Farmington picked up the checkered flag in the 600cc Multi class feature. Casey Barnhouse settled for second place with Junior Ferguson third, Josh Kennedy fourth and Tommy Boyd fifth. They were followed by Matt Dotson, Kent Buckley, Jimmy Bridgeman, Tony Schneider and Tyler Thompson.

Tommy Boyd won the first heat with Barnhouse second and Schneider third. Ferguson won the second heat with Buckley second and Dotson third. Barks won the third heat with Kennedy second. Todd Reynolds won the "B" main.

Racing action at the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington will continue this Saturday night. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7. The MARA Midgets will also be a part of the program this week to go along with the Sprints, Hobby Stocks, Modifieds and 600cc Multis. For more information phone (573) 756-1734.
