Here is what I know of the tracks that are closed for the year -

Belle Clair
Highland
Godfrey
Montgomery City

I-55 has one more show to do this Saturday.
Tri City has a show on Saturday.

Mt Vernon is still unknown.

Brownstown has a few shows to go before they call it a season.

Head to Ky for a few more shows before the season ends for good.

Closed

Found out yesterday that Mt. Vernon is closed for the rest of the year as well. I thought they were going to try and run another Sunday afternoon or two, but they said they are done.

Not real Late Models but steel block late models!!!
If you want just cars going in circles, then go. But if you want racing then state home and watch NASCAR on the TV.

clay county speedway is running this weekend. regular show friday nite oct 10 demo-derby and enduro sunday 0ct 12 then there done for the year. guess that time of the year is here again.

I thaught Farmington was done after the Queen's Royale....if I am wrong, I would like to know the details of their last show.

Just trying to help the racing community with who is still open and running racing and who is closed. Then you get inputs likesome of these and you wonder if anyone really knows what tracks are still open.
I'll go back to the one I know have shows still being run - I-55 this Saturday only, Tri-city with their special this weekend, Brownstown with two more specials, KY Lake with at least one special, but are they running anything other races before the Commonwealth.
From what I see every other track is done and waiting for 2004 to come. Some of the tracks stopped with no words getting to the public. Those tracks that did provide the word from a good source thank you for helping everyone want to still find a race to go to. To the other tracks, shame on you. I have not checked all the track web sites, but Mt Vernon's has not been maintained this year, again. I try the web sites.
Brownstown and Highland have Scorethis to thank for the updates.
Jimmy Dearing does well with the word he gets.
I try to get the word if I happen to be at the track or get good word. Anyway, it looks like we can wait for 2004 to roll around and see what tracks are running what and then set your schedules.
I hope UMP does the Challenge of Champions again. That was fun to watch, but the final was a great event.

Hey Jack,
Was that comment really necessary?
Are you the UMP PR guy now who makes the decision on what is and what is not a late model?
So having a rule on limiting the engine block disclaims that these cars are NOT Late Models?
What is that sheet that UMP hands out for latemodels, a guideline that WE all must live by?
So by your standards what constitutes a late model?
Oh I get it, there’s just one rule: ENDLESS MONEY PIT. So then it’s OK to call it a latemodel.

“Just watch cars go around in a circles......stay home and watch NASCAR” I never thought I’d hear that from you.

Thats the typical Allied corprate line. I have a vcr, so I'll be at TCS for the show. I think Allied must still be mad at TCS for tellin them to hit the road back in 93 or 94. Seems like everything they do is to go against tcs. TCS moved the October race so it wouldnt go up against the Pevely show, and Allied goes and moves their date just to go against TCS. I really dont give a flyin flip about what they do, but for jpugh to try to get people to sit in front of the tube instead of supporting a race at a local track. SHame on pugh.

ATPR at Benton, Mo., has two events left: A pure stock special Oct. 18 and a demo derby the next weekend. Their other classes are all done.

Malden (Mo.) Speedway is racing late models, mods and other classes Oct. 10 and 17, then they end the season with a three-day late model and mod show Oct. 23-24-25.

From St. Louis you would be better off to go straight down I-55 past Sikeston and then head west. I am thinking that the last time I went to Malden it took a little over 3 hours or so. Hope this helps.
