SEDALIA, Mo. (Oct. 29, 2002) - For the 5th consecutive year in a row, dirt track racing will return to Sedalia, Missouri Saturday night, November 9th for Campbell Promotions' “Coliseum Indoor Winter Speedway Kart Racing Series”.

The 1/8th mile, high banked, super-smooth 'tack-track' will see 12 different kart racing classes hit the surface with hot laps starting at 4 p.m.. The pit gates will open at 1 p.m., the grandstands will unlock the doors at 3 p.m. with the first qualification heat race runs starting at 5 p.m. sharp.

Karters of America Racing Triad (K.A.R.T.) will again sanction the events. The classes set to run are the Rookie Beginners and Advanced, Juniors 1 and 2, light and heavy, the Stock classes in Light, Medium, Heavy and Super Heavy, Kage Karts and 2-cycle categories.

As each year passes for the entire series, scheduled this year to run again every Saturday night from the opening date through the final weekend in March, 2003, new records continue to fall.

During last year's 13th event of the season, an astounding 151 entries showed up to run a record 78 events. And all was still done long before midnight. The weekly average for the 2001-2 season came out at 110 karts per week competing in 68 events.

The racing fans, out for their wintertime 'need for speed', definitely get their attendance money's worth every week.

That, along with the supplied heat in the historic Missouri State Fairgrounds building and the 'Coliseum Karting Concessions' delicious food, fans and competitors always look forward to returning.

Admission to the grandstands for adults is $5, 7 to 10 years old-$3 and under 6 years of age, free.
