Opener Now Set for March 22 at Texarkana 67 Speedway

Conway, Arkansas (03/15/19) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series presented by Lucas Oil has moved the location for their 2019 opening event. Originally scheduled for Friday, March 22 at Rose Bowl Speedway (Winona, Texas), the 2019 lid lifter will now be held that night at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Arkansas).

“We were looking forward to our first trip to Rose Bowl Speedway, but we were notified by the track this week that the wet winter had kept the staff from being able to get everything ready for next Friday’s show,” CCSDS CEO Chris Sullivan said. “Texarkana 67 Speedway was on our schedule for the following week, but when they heard about the opening, they stepped up to the plate to move their show up to March 22. I really appreciate the Green family for their assistance, and I’m really excited to be returning to 67 Speedway.”

The 2019 season marks the 12th year of operation for the CCSDS. However, it marks the first year that the series will operate under the direction of brothers, Chris and Jack Sullivan.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get the season underway,” Jack Sullivan commented. “We’ve had a ton of support from both drivers and fans already. We’re definitely ready to hit the ground running.”

Sullivan was the 2018 and now four-time CCSDS Champion, but this year he moves into the series director’s roll with the tour.

“I’m sure it’s going to feel odd not being in the driver’s seat at the first few races, but my focus right now is on helping this series succeed and grow,” Sullivan continued. “I’ll still be racing two dozen or so races this year when the CCSDS has off weekend, so that will feed my need for driving.”

The 2019 CCSDS campaign comes to life on Friday, March 22 at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Arkansas). It will mark the tour’s first event at the ¼-mile oval in several years. A $2,500-to-win/ $400-to-start program, which is presented by W&W Timber, is on tap for the opener. The program also includes Hobby Stocks ($750-to-win), 4-Cylinders, Factory Stocks, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Southern SportMods and IMCA Modifieds.

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with racing action at 8:00 p.m. Adult general admission is $20 with military/senior citizens $15, children (ages 6-12) $5 and kids (5 & under free). Pit passes are $35. For more information on the event, please visit www.TXK67Speedway.com .
