Corn Belt Clash Prepares to Kick-off 2012 Season on April 7

The Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series is preparing to kick-off its fourth season on Saturday April 7th at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for the annual ‘Spring Meltdown’ with a co-sanctioned event with the MLRA Series. The drivers of the CBC will tackle the half-mile speedway for the first of several events throughout the 2012 Corn Belt Clash season and a $3,000 pay day to the winner. The winner of the event will also receive a provisional starting spot in the $25,000-to-win Lucas Oil Silver Dollar Nationals held in July. ASCS Sprints and B-Mods will also be on the bill. Pit gates open at 3, with grandstands opening at 4:30. Admission is $20, with kids 5 and nder free. Pit passes are $30. More information about this event can be found at www.I-80Speedway.com.

Just six days later, on April 13th, the series makes its inaugural stop at Davenport Speedway on the Mississippi Valley Fair Grounds in Davenport, Iowa for the Karsyn’s Krusaders 40. The evening will be filled with great dirt track action and Karsyn’s Krusaders, the official non-profit organization of the Corn Belt Clash, will be on-hand selling merchandise and holding special activities for fans and drivers. Activities include a special team fundraising challenge, ‘Shake Your Money-Maker ’contest, and much more as the organization works to raise money to support others affected by cancer. Pits open at 4 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5. The driver’s meeting will be at 6 with racing to follow. IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds and DRT Street Stocks will also be on the bill with the travelers of the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series as all 4 divisions will run on the historic half-mile surface. The following night, the travelers of the CBC make another series first time stop at the Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois as the series is part of the annual Bohlander Tribute as series regulars battle against the areas UMP regulars in this $4,000-to-win event. Gates will open at 3, with grandstands opening at 4. UMP Modifieds, Limited Late Models and Illinois Lightning Mini-Sprints will also be a part of the bill. The Corn Belt Clash is also proud to announce the addition of several new sponsors for the upcoming season and also additional event dates. Callies Performance Products and CV Products have come on-board with the Clash for the upcoming season. CV Products will award product certificates at each sanctioned CBC event and Callies contributing to the post-season awards banquet. Returning series’ sponsor, JE Pistons, has also increased their involvement with the series for the upcoming season as they will now be awarding two contingency awards per race throughout the season, along with additional post-season awards.

The Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series is also very proud to announce that it has partnered with Karsyn’s Krusaders for the upcoming season, and that Karsyn’s Krusaders is now the official non-profit organization of the Corn Belt Clash, as they continue to work towards the goal of ‘Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt One Lap at a Time®’. The series and the Krusaders are holding the ‘Karsyn’s Krusaders Corn Belt Clash Series Challenge’ throughout the season, that tallies donations made by and on behalf of participating series drivers to help support those affected by cancer. The Corn Belt Clash is happy to announce that several new dates have been added to the 2012 schedule including May 19th appearance at the newly re-opened Echo Valley Speedway in West Union, Iowa; a first-time stop on July 3rd event at Chilton Speedway in Chilton, Wisconsin along with the series first appearance on July 18 at US 36 Raceway in Missouri for a co-sanctioned event with the MLRA series. The CBC also makes its debut at the Lafayette County Speedway in Darlington, Wisconsin on July 28th.
