(RURAL RETREAT, VIRGINIA) The B&B Motorsports team and driver Daniel Baggerly traveled to the states of Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina from May 25-27 to compete in a triple shot of Memorial Day weekend races! On Saturday night, the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee played host to a $4,000 to win Ultimate Super Late Model Series showdown. Daniel unfortunately folded his nose under during his qualifying lap and the team was forced to scratch from the remainder of the program to make the correct repairs to the nose and front suspension of their #16 machine.
Things went smoother on Sunday evening at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, as Daniel entered a $2,000 to win, unsanctioned program at the "World's Fastest 1/2 Mile." Daniel did not qualify the greatest, but he was passing cars in the A-Main until getting collected in a wreck, which relegated the Rural Retreat, Virginia native to a seventeenth place performance.
The tripleheader weekend then concluded for the #16 team on Monday with the Memorial Day Championship at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina, as a $3,000 top prize was on the line. "Bagz" timed in sixth quickest during qualifying and later posted a sixth place effort in the feature behind only winner Dillon Wood, Chip Brindle, David Payne, Johnny Chastain, and George Mashburn. The #16 B&B Motorsports team will jump right back into racing action this Saturday night, June 1 at the nearby Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia. Daniel will return to his roots and enter a Crate Late Model in a regular weekly show at the picturesque 1/2-mile facility.
