FARLEY, Iowa (April 2) – Farley Speedway takes its third try at hosting the 2012 Deery Brothers Summer Series opener this Friday, April 6.
Rain and the resulting wet track conditions forced postponement of the first event of the season for touring IMCA Late Models from March 31 and then from April 1.
The Late Model main event pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start. Also on the program are IMCA Modifieds, racing for all applicable points, and local stock cars.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Friday. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
Grandstand admission is $16 for adults, $13 for seniors and $10 for students, with kids 12 and under free. Pit passes are $25.
Twenty-one dates are on the series schedule this season. From Farley, Deery drivers travel to 34 Raceway at West Burlington for the $3,000 to win Slocum 50 on Saturday, April 7.
More information about Friday’s show at Farley is available from promoter Keith Simmons at 563 744-3620 and at the www.simmonspromotionsinc.com website.
Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., is the two-time defending Deery Series champion.
