Canton, IL - July 7, 2010 - Inclimate weather Wednesday afternoon has forced the postponement of Night 20 of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill.

Storms that rolled through the Canton area on Tuesday paired with building storms in the area on Wednesday afternoon forced DIRTcar and track officials to postpone Wednesday night's $5,000 Hell Tour event until Monday July 12, 2010. The rainout is the second such postponement of the 2010 tour, with the first coming Sunday Night at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill.

Defending Hell Tour champion Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill. holds a slim 23-point advantage over both 2009 DIRTcar National Champion Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill. and Pinconning, Mich., driver Jeep Van Wormer with nine races remaining over the course of the next ten days.

Up next for the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Tour is a visit to Macon Speedway on Thursday July 8, 2010. In total the Hell Tour has traveled over 3,900 miles in the course of 21 nights. The trip from Spoon River to Macon Speedway in Macon, Ill., will have drivers traveling nearly 130 miles southeast to the track who's Herald and Review 100 has become a staple of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals. Shannon Babb of nearby Moweaqua, Ill. won the Summer Nationals event at Macon in 2009.
