DOE RUN, MO--(February 9, 2003) With many special events already finalized and more in the works, the 2003 racing season at Doe Run Raceway promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The season will kick off with the annual car show on March 15th at Duncan's Mobil Mart in Doe Run. Then on March 29th a rookie school will be held at the track. The rookie school will enable the track officials to work with the rookies in the various classes, explaining track procedures, lights, flags and what to do when certain situations arise.
Play day is scheduled for April 5th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. April 11th will be the first night of racing with the first points night scheduled for April 18th.
Other highlights include the ever popular $500 to win show in May for the 600cc Multi class, a "Lucky 13" special on Friday, June 13th for the Dwarf car class, a special Kart event in July and Bob's Birthday Bash in August for the Mini Stock Class.
A non-winged $750 to win 600cc Multi Show will finish out the season on Friday, September 26th. The Fall Finale will also include the fan favorite Mini Stock Mechanics Race and Powder Puff.
