DOE RUN, MO--The 2006 racing season at Doe Run Raceway came to a close this past Friday night with wheel to wheel racing action in all classes and a special added attraction which was a visit by the Vintage cars.
Casey Barnhouse of Farmington, MO , the 600cc Multi class champion, pulled double duty, driving both the #69x 600cc Multi and the #8 Burch Fencing Mini Stock. In the Mini Stock, Barnhouse claimed two victories, winning both his heat race and the feature event. Tony Moore earned the runner up spot in the feature with CJ Wright, Steve Wright and Megan Bell rounding out the top five.
CJ Wright finished second to Barnhouse in the first heat, Ronnie Moser third. Moore won the second heat, Steve Wright second and Ray Statler third.
Mark Gass and Mark Shirshekan had the fans on the edge of their seats during the 600cc Multi feature. Starting side by side on the front row after winning their heat races, Gass jumped out in front at the green with Shirshekan hot on his heels. At the line it was Gass in front of Shirshekan by inches for the victory. Casey Barnhouse finished third, Junior Ferguson fourth and Jake Bess fifth.
In the Dwarf car division, Brad Paquet added another win to his list to finish out the season. Chris Hayes finished second, Matt Dotson third, Jim Daley fourth and Doug Brewster fifth.
Billy Joe Beard won the heat race, Paquet second and Hayes third.
Scottie Gretzmacher has been virtually untouchable in the Stock Kart class this season and this week was no exception as he added two more wins to his impressive list by winning both the heat race and the feature. Damien Atchley finished second to Gretzmacher in the feature, Andrew Cash third, Lee Stuppy fourth and Jesse Wright fifth.
Braydon Wright was runner up to Gretzmacher in the heat race, Jesse Wright third.
In the Vintage class, John Wolmeier earned two victories as well, winning both the second heat and the A-Main. Brian Wolfmeier finished second, Marc McClintock third, Dean Adams Jr. fourth and Tom Worley Sr. fifth.
Randy Horton Jr. piloted the #25 to a win in the first heat, Chad McClintock second and Richie Wolfmeier third. M. McClintock was second in the second heat, and Brian Wolfmeier finished in the third spot.
Barnhouse finished second behind Shirshekan in the first heat, Bess third. Ferguson was the runner up to Gass in the second heat, Zack Daum third.
