DOE RUN, MO--(June 30, 2006) Brad Paquet, Marty Boyer, Casey Barnhouse, Matt Greif and Scottie Gretzmacher all paid visits to the winners circle in their respective divisions Friday night at Doe Run Raceway.
Paquet, who races in the dwarf car class, won a hard fought battle over second place finisher Billy Joe Beard to earn his feature win. Rounding out the top five were Vince Conway, Chris Hayes and Wayne Arnold. Hayes won the first heat, Matt Dotson second and Jim Daley third. Paquet won the second heat, Beard second and Jason Gann third.
As always, Marty Boyer, Shannon Burch and Bill Nickelson kept the fans on the edge of their seats during the Mini Stock main event. At the checkers it was once again Boyer across the line first followed by Burch and Nickelson. CJ Wright finished in the fourth spot, Ronnie Moser fifth. Burch won the first heat, Wright second and Nickelson third. Boyer won the second heat, Moser second and Megan Bell third.
Casey Barnhouse held off the charge of Eric Edwards in the 600cc Multi class feature. Joey Boyd finished third, Jimmy Bridgeman fourth and Austin Brown fifth. Barnhouse won the first heat followed by Edwards and Brown. Mike Phillips won the second heat, Nick Knepper second and Gavin Galbraith third. Bridgeman won the third heat, Mark Shirshekan second and Brad Greer third. Zack Daum, Brian Keen and Eric Ziegler finished 1-2-3 in the B-Main, earning transfer spots into the main event.
Matt Greif drove the zebra striped 1 3/4 to two victories Friday night in the newly formed Hornet division, winning both his heat race and the feature. In both events, Chad DeSpain finished second to Greif, Jory Norris third, Mike Hayes fourth and Marcy Dotson fifth.
Scottie Gretzmacher added another two victories to his list for 2006 in the Stock Kart class by winning the first heat and the feature. Jesse Wright finished second behind Gretzmacher in the feature, Andrew Cash thid, Damien Atchley fourth and Wayne Arnold fifth. Wright followed Gretzmacher in the first heat, Garrett Burns third. Cash won the second heat, Lee Stuppy second and Carson Heady third.
Racing will resume Friday, July 7th with a special event featuring the O'Reilly Power i 600cc Outlaw Micro Racing series. Other classes participating will be the Mini Stocks and Stock Karts.
