DOE RUN, MO--(May 9, 2003) Despite numerous attempts by Mother Nature to put a damper on things, Doe Run Raceway was able to get in a complete program this past Friday night.

Action in the 600cc Multi class was hot and heavy with 19 cars on hand for the evening's competition. Derek O'Dell showed some impressive driving skills, making his way through lap traffic to pick up the victory and put the cap on his triple crown for the night. Junior Ferguson, Casey Barnhouse, Joey Boyd and Jeremy Boyer made up the remaining top five. O'Dell was the winner of the first heat followed by Ferguson , Dustin Barks, Brad Loyet and Jimmy Bridgeman. Joey Boyd was victorious in the second heat, Brandon Schneider second, Josh Statler third, David Chilton fourth and Jake Bess in fifth. Casey Barnhouse brought home the checkers in the third heat with Jeremy Boyer second, Lance McKinney third, Matt Dotson fourth and Ray Statler fifth. Boyd also earned a second place finish behind O'Dell in the dash, Ferguson third, Barnhouse fourth and Boyer fifth.

Ron Moser looked to be on his way to his first feature win this season in the Mini Stock class. Moser held off brothers Eric and Carl Bellew until lap 12 of the 15 lap race when his car got loose coming off of turn 4 and Carl Bellew was able to shoot past both his brother Eric and Moser to pick up the win. Eric Bellew finished second, Chuck White third, Moser fourth and Mike Whitehead fifth. Moser picked up a victory in the heat race followed by Carl Bellew, Eric Bellew, Chuck White and Chris Pettus.

Michael Harp was once again victorious in the Super Stock Kart division, winning both his feature event and heat race. Harp was followed across the line in the feature event by Wayne Arnold, Kodi Giessing and Megan Bell. Wayne Arnold ran second in the heat race with Megan Bell third.

The Dwarf cars were exciting to watch with Randy Horton Jr. picking up his first feature win of the year. Horton came in as a substitute driver for Robert Halbrook in the #25 car, which meant he had to start the race from the rear of the 12 car field. Horton was moving consistently through the field until spinning and losing power to the car midway through the race. This brought out a caution flag and he was moved once again to the rear of the field. At the restart, Horton was able to power his way around the outside until he was within striking distance of the first place car. Horton soon claimed the front spot for his own and never looked back. He was followed by Glenn Province, Cliff Yates, Bobby Black and John Leahy Jr. Yates picked up a victory in the first heat with Province second, Chad Browers third, Leahy Jr. fourth and Dom Wadlow fifth. Bobby Black won the second heat with Ron Wadlow! second, Vince Conway third, Neil Hovis fourth and Robert Halbrook fifth.

Landon Barks brought his #8 across the line first to pick up a feature win in the Stock Kart division. Rounding out the top five were Brad Paquet, Michael Hutchison, Amber Bayless and Madison Weedman. Wayne Arnold was the winner of the heat race followed by Paquet, Barks, Braydon Wright and Jesse Wright.
