Dawsonville, Georgia (06/13/19) – Donald McIntosh achieved one of his 2019-season goals over the weekend. The driver of the Blount Motorsports No. 7m Ole Ben Franklin Motors/ Stowers Cat/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model qualified for his first-career Dirt Late Model Dream finale on Saturday night.

While his night ended after a mud clod damaged the nose of his familiar No. 7m, McIntosh still regarded the weekend as a great success.

“Gotta say this weekend was a pretty awesome experience to make every show at the Dream and race will all of the best. I hate that it ended with a chunk of the cushion getting knocked down into the track, which folded our nose under and put us into the wall.

“I want to thank Eric Watson and Jake Whitehead for all of their help and of course David Bryant and Blount Motorsports. On top of a fun weekend of racing we met some new friends. It was just a great time.”

Thursday night saw Donald McIntosh and Blount Motorsports invade Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 25th annual Dirt Late Model Dream. With 92 Super Late Model drivers entered, McIntosh recorded the seventh-fastest time in his qualifying group before placing fourth in his heat race. Starting the opening night preliminary feature in 15th, Donald gained two spots in the 25-lapper to log a 13th-place finish.

Returning on Friday evening for another round of preliminary features, Donald secured his spot into the show with the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. With $10,000 on the line, McIntosh recorded an 18th-place finish in the 25 lapper.

Wrapping up the Dirt Late Model Dream on Saturday evening, McIntosh fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat race with a fourth-place finish. Finishing second in his B-Main behind Mason Zeigler, Donald earned the 21st-starting position for the $125,000-to-win finale. Bringing out a caution on lap-82 after making contact with the wall, Donald McIntosh posted a 20th-place finish in the 100-lap affair.
