Donnie Burns seriously injured in accident at Big River

We were really running late last night (this morning), in fact about 2:15 a.m. Donnie Burns of Bonne Terre was involved in a very serious ATV accident at Big River Sand Drags. He was originally transported to Bonne Terre Hospital (there on Hwy. 67) before being airlifted to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. I've not heard a word on his condition, but he was in bad shape when he left the track.
 
Hate to be pessimistic, but if he was airlifted to Barnes, then it's not good. He must've had some pretty serious injuries.
 
He was barely breathing when he was taken from the track. His ATV was originally on top of him with the exhaust pipes laying on top of him.
 
I just got off the phone with the hospital and he's still in intensive care in critical condition. If you can please send him a card of encouragement. Here's the address:

anyone who wishes 2 help out the family of donnie, there will be a benefit bbq and possibly a car wash on sat aug 21st in Bonne Terre at the texaco station,(which is down near the bowling alley) food will be ready starting at about 10am and runs till they run out of food, so come on out and help out a racer in need, there should also be a few race cars on display, and any racer is welcome 2 bring out his/her car.
