Don's Goodyear sponsors full racing program at West Plains Motor Speedway

An exciting night of high speed entertainment proved to be a real crowd pleaser when Don's Goodyear Auto Service Center, of West Plains, sponsored the events and provided a great selection of racing related doorprizes.
With Goodyear being such a strong sponsor of NASCAR, as well as the local level of racing, it seemed most appropriate to announce an additional special event being added to the schedule at WPMS. Early Saturday afternoon it was confirmed that June 16, will be the date for the first annual Kenny Wallace Night at West Plains Motor Speedway. Wallace, who resides in St. Louis, MO area, will be on hand for autographs as well as competiting in a special openwheel modified race. More details will be made soon concerning this special event.
This week in the IMCA Modified feature event Shawn Walsh took the winner's honors. Rounding out the top five were Kevin Salter of Batesville, AR, Billy Romans of West Plains, Tony Anglin of Walnut Ridge, AR and Chris Piper of West Plains.
Balance of the field included: Kevin Collins of West Plains, Brandon Ball of Koshkonong, MO, Don Marsh of West Plains, Scott Crigler of Alton, MO, Jerry Croney of West Plains, Lonnie Judd of Caulfield, MO, Calvin Tribble and Danny Peterson, both of West Plains, Marty Toten of Pomona, MO, Al Bernal of Myrtle, MO, Trent Cochran of West Plains, Carmon Vincent of Moody, MO, John Mostrom of Flippin, AR, Kelly Marsh of Willow Springs, MO, Denny Dennison of West Plains, Bryan McKee of Mtn. Home, AR, and Brian Judd of Caulfield, MO.
Super Stock feature winner was Tony Anglin of Walnut Ridge, AR. Giving him a really good race was Stan Ellison of West Plains, along with a full field of Kellys, including Cody Kelly, Dee Kelly, Derald Kelly, and Todd Kelly, all of Birch Tree, MO.
Balance of the field included: Tim Winchester of Gideon, MO, Darren Fox of Vanzant, MO, Jeff North of Rogersville, MO, Nathan Dobbs of Poplar Bluff, MO, Aaron Dicks of Gassville, AR and Rick Buie of Batesville, AR.
In the Hobby Stock feature event Bobby Bryant of West Plains won the checkered flag wave of the night, with Chuck Russell of West Plains, close behind, followed by Rick Cooper of Thornfield, MO, Marty Toten of Pomona, MO and Bobby Ratterree of Mtn. Grove, MO.
Balance of the field included: Brian Ratliff of Hardy, AR, Greg Lute of Hardy, AR, Don Wilson of Willow Springs, MO, Brett Love of Mt. Pleasant, AR, Tim Anderson of Doniphan, MO, Kyle W. Freyermuth of Mammoth Spring, AR and Chris Ratterree of Mtn. Grove, MO.
In the Cruiser class, Jason Johnson of Hardy, AR, graduated from Highland High School on Friday night and won the feature event on Saturday night, making a memorable weekend. Rounding out the top five were Clint Seamans of Imboden, AR, Scott North of Willow Springs, MO, Bobby Skinner of Moody, MO and Shane Hitt of Birch Tree, MO.
Balance of the field included: Chris Skinner of Moody, MO, Billy Harden, Andrew Harden, Donald Collins, and Dudley Collins, all of West Plains, Les Snyder of Birch Tree, MO, and Philip Chainey of Springfield, MO.
`West Plains driver, Mike Harrill, won the FWD/Mini-stock feature of the night, with Benny Arnall of Hartville, MO, close behind, followed by Brad Sanders and Jerry Doane, both of West Plains, Rance Rathbone of Birch Tree, MO, Clift Strait of Ash Flat, AR and Steven Simpson of West Plains.
Ben Ledgerwood of Birch Tree, MO, won his last Youth Hobby Stock feature this week as he will be celebrating his 16th birthday before we have another weekly race. Ledgerwood won 45 weekly events during his career in the Youth division and is looking forward to the move up to the Super Stock class. Rounding out the top drivers in this week's feature was Anthony Carnal of Cabool, MO, Zach Hurtt of Mtn. Grove, MO, and Tyler Chainey of Springfield, MO.
