Edwards wins POWRi show at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(July 6, 2007) As a Doe Run Raceway regular, Eric Edwards has seen his share of checkered flags. This past week proved no different,as Edwards earned yet another feature win at the facility.

41 cars were in attendance for the O'Reilly POWRi Micro Sprint tour with 23 cars earning starting positions in the 25 lap main event by racing their way through various heat races and B-Mains.

Mark Gass finished second behind Edwards in the main, former track champion Tony Roney third, Austin Laskey fourth and Jake Mosely fifth.

In the Mini Stock division, the number 69 of Casey Barnhouse looked to be on his way to victory until bringing out a caution on lap 6 and having to go to the rear of the field. Shannon Burch then assumed the lead and stayed there for the remainder of the 15 lap race. Barnhouse worked his way back to finish second, Bob Wright third, Ron Moser fourth and Jimmy Thurman fifth.

Barnhouse won the heat, Burch second and Moser third.

Andrew Cash put his number 3 Stock Kart in victory lane two times, winning both the heat race and the main. Scottie Gretzmacher finished second, Jessie Wright third, Damien Atchley fourth and Lee Stuppy fifth. Gretzmacher also earned runner up spot in the heat race, Garrett Burns third.

Racing will resume Friday, July 13th with 600cc Multi, Mini Stock, Stock Kart, Hornets and 305 Limited Sprints. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., practice begins at 7:30, racing begins at 8:00 p.m. For more information, visit the track's website at www.doerunraceway.com or phone (573) 756-8889.
