Fans get preview at Doe Run Raceway

DOE RUN, MO--(June 29, 2007) The O'Reilly poweri Micro Series is set to invade the raceway Friday, July 6th and lucky fans in the stands got a taste of whats to come as several series regulars made an appearance this past evening to test the track. Last years event drew approximately 40 cars from several states.

In the 600cc Multi Feature, Eric Edwards and Lynda Blanke lined up side by side on the front row to lead the field of cars to the green flag. When the green dropped, Edwards stepped on the gas and never looked back, leading all 20 laps of the main event and earning another victory at the facility this season. Jarrett Cathey finished second, Joe B. Miller third, HRE Racing fourth and Jimmy Bridgeman fifth.

Blanke won the first heat, Miller second and HRE third. Edwards won the second heat, Tyler Reddick second and Cathey third.

Andrew Cash once again proved he is a force to be reckoned with this season in the Stock Kart division, winning both the heat race and the A-Main. Scottie Gretmacher finished second to Cash in the A-Main, Jessie Wright third, Lee Stuppy fourth and Damien Atchley fifth. Gretzmacher and Wright ran 2-3 behind Cash in the heat race as well.

In the Mini Stock class, a new driver was in the seat of the 69 HRE Racing Engine, Hensco Technologies entry normally driven by Casey Barnhouse. Steve Harris proved he hasn't forgotten how to put a racecar around the racetrack, winning both the heat race and the A-Main. Ronnie Moser finished second, Megan Bell third and Mark Wells fourth. Moser was second behind Harris in the heat race and Bob Wright third after a scary roll over accident on the back straightaway during the latter stages of the race.

In his second night out in the 305 Sprint class, Tom Harris earned two victories, the feature event and the heat race. Dustin Adams finished second behind Harris in the main, Josh Worrell third, Gavin Galbraith fourth and Kermit Schrum Jr. fifth. Adams followed Harris across the line in the heat race, Galbraith third.

Matt Greif won both the heat race and the feature event in the Hornet division. Jeff Straughan finished behind Greif in the feature, Shane Sales third. In the heat race it was Sales in second and Straughan in third across the line behind Greif.

Racing will resume Friday, July 6th with the O'Reilly poweri Micro Series. Also racing will be the Mini Stock and Stock Kart classes.
