Fastrak catches illegal engine and bars competitor

A competitor was found illegal this past Saturday night at Wythe Raceway in VA.The competitor will not be announced per this release.

The heads and intake had been altered. This is considered a serious offense and will be treated as such.

*Fastrak has obtained the knowledge of where the illegal parts came from and also a list of competitors that have "supposedly" had the same head and intake work done. Fastrak is and will continue to pursue the manufacturer of said illegal work. Fastrak is considering other options under advisement of legal counsel. This matter is under investigation.

*A statement has been sent to General Motors concerning this matter. The competitors name and also the name of the illegal manufacturer has been disclosed.

*Letters are going out to all Fastrak weekly sanctioned tracks and Regional Directors concerning barring the competitor for the balance of the 2006 season.

*Competitor will not be allowed to compete at any Fastrak weekly sanctioned track in the United Sates or Regional Touring event for the remainder of the 2006 season.

*Competitor will not be allowed to compete in the National Championship this year and must pay a $1000.00 fine before membership will be reinstated for the 2007 season.

*Fastrak at this time will not disclose the competitors name or the name of the illegal manufacturer.
