The Midwest Fastrak Late Model Champions Series will headline the racing action this coming Saturday night, May 28th, at the Mt. Vernon Raceway in Mt. Vernon IL. $1200.00 is up for grabs to the Fastrak Feature winner, also at stake are valuable Fastrak Midwest Regional points.
Filling out the nights racing card will be UMP Modifieds, Bombers, and Hornets. The UMP Super Late Models and The Mt. Vernon Steel Block Late Models classes both have the weekend off and will return Saturday June 4th.
This race will be number 3 in a 15 race Midwest Championship Series. Currently the Fastrak Midwest Series points are tied with Paducah KY’s Kevin Poole and "Gentleman" Joe Morris from Galatia IL sitting on top of the list. Fastrak Midwest’s Regional Director, Sean Franklin was excited that the series so far, "proves what was we had expected, that no one driver will dominate the series".
Expected to attend, Scott Hutchinson from Johnston City IL who is third in series points. Current Mt. Vernon Raceway’s Steel Block Champ from Benton IL, Chuck Still, and former NASCAR Midwest Regional Champion Terry James from Winfield MO., fourth and fifth in points respectfully, have announced their intentions to attend. Danny Jolly, from Christopher IL, and Shannon Kuhn from Highland IL is also expected to attend.
Tickets for this event are Adults $15.00 and Pit Passes $30.00
