Fastrak Dirt Late Models at Westminster Speedway this Friday as Maypole Chevrolet gives out One Million in Bonus Bucks!!
Fireworks on and off the track, autograph session, cash tennis ball throw, 3 wide salute to the fans, A million in bonus bucks from Maypole Chevrolet and some of the best racing in the country will happen this Friday night at the Westminster Speedway in Westminster SC. “Fastrak coming in Westminster coming to this track is a big event” stated track operator David Lusk. “We went with the Fastrak weekly sanction program simply because that was what the drivers wanted. The National Championship is $250,000.00 and hopefully one of our weekly teams brings it home to South Carolina. Now that would definitely be bragging rights for the team and the track”.
“Westminster is one of the oldest tracks in dirt racing that I know of” stated Regional Director Jody Palmer. “There is a lot of history there. I can guarantee this will be a show the fans will not soon forget. Including qualifying, heats, last chance races and feature events we look for somewhere around 175 laps of late model racing around the 3/8ths miles track. Lots of racing for the fans. I have personally seen late models race three wide around this track. I was in the middle. That’s correct, I was there racing one night and Hot Rod Lamance, Greg Pilgrim and myself raced three wide. The fans went nuts that night so you just wait until this Friday night. I can guarantee you one thing as a fan. If you go to the bathroom you will miss something. Our show keeps getting larger and larger. We want the fans to have a great time and get their moneys worth. If you were at Bulls Gap you could see we are doing a good job of that. Fans get more than their moneys worth at a Fastrak event now. As a matter of fact I have asked Founder Stan Lester to quit coming up with ideas. I am joking of course but seriously the show is full. Not only is it some of the best racing in the country but it is no doubt a show. Something for everyone”.
Lee Cooper in the 57 car from Greer SC enters this event as the Southern region points leader. Cooper also won the Saturday night in Bulls Gap TN. Cooper has now won three Fastrak events in one season. I feat no one has ever accomplished before. Chris Carlson in the C12 of Greenfield Wisconsin will also be there and Carlson is now leading both the Mid East and Mid West Regions of the Series. Carlson has quickly become a fan favorite as a clean driver but always a tough competitor. Carlson won the event earlier this year at Cherokee, The Missouri State Championship and Triple Crown event. 05 Rookies of the year, Matthew Daniels in the black 18d will be in attendance and looking to gain some points on Cooper. Look for the 18s of Justin Sims to be tough there as well as the 8 car of Hot Rod Lamance, 82 of George Reese and last weeks track winner the 32 of Bubba Russell. Russell had already won two weekly shows at Westminster this season and is sure to be hard to beat as well as local favorite Reese. Ronnie Tullis is the 45 car will be tough to beat at Westminster. Tullis runs one of the Fastrak powered crate engines and has won numerous features at Westminster over the years. Tullis qualified very well at West Georgia Speedway but ended his effort very quickly as he rolled his car over on the start of the main event there. the 547 “Bowman Bandit” of Randall Jordan has run at Westminster several times this year and always runs well there. 8 car of Hot Rod Lamance is always a fan favorite and intends to make this one of his Fastrak touring events.
