“Fastrak Series Mid West Awards Banquet”
The Awards Banquet for the Inaugural season of the Fastrak Racing Series Mid West Region will get underway in February. The banquet will be held at the Rend Lake Golf Course in WhittingtonIL. Justin Fantozzi of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Dirt Tire Division will be the guest speaker for the evening. “I look forward to this event” stated Fantozzi. “Goodyear is 100% behind the Fastrak Series and we look forward to a great 2006 season and beyond. The plans for Fastrak will surprise everyone as they become available and Goodyear is excited about being a part of the Series for the entire country”. In a surprise announcement, Mr. Kinney Tipton of Goodyear will be on hand as well. Kinney is the Goodyear race tire distributor for the Western Part of the United States. Kinney will be flying in from Sandy Utah where he is based. “I wanted to get to know the track owners and all the teams” said Tipton. “This is the perfect opportunity to do that in an environment where we can really get to know one another instead of trying to talk at the race track. We want all the Fastrak teams and weekly sanctioned tracks to know we are behind them. Not only as a Distributor, but the entire Goodyear Corporation as well.
Series Founder Stan Lester will be on hand as well as Scott and Kevin Ferguson, licensees of the Mid West Region. Scott and Kevin have been incredible in the Mid West” said Lester. No one could have done a better job. Getting a Region up and going is always a challenge especially considering there was no crate engine Late Models in the area. I know the hard work it takes and the Ferguson’s helped all the teams making sure they could get to the races and in some instances even loaning different teams cars to compete. I know all the teams in that area appreciate their efforts. You don’t find people like them in racing anymore for the most part and they are certainly appreciated. This was a family effort on the Ferguson’s part. Brittany, Diane, Kevin, Scott and even Mom Ferguson were all involved and they all deserve a lot of credit for making Fastrak successful in the Mid West”.
