The stage is set for the FASTRAK World Championship weekend at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway. The biggest weekend in Pro Late Model racing comes to Jamaica, VA featuring over $80,000 in purse money up for grabs. Ross Bailes, of Clover, SC is the defending FASTRAK World Champion and Justin Williams, of Concord, VA is the defending FASTRAK World Challenge winner.
The weekend begins on Friday October 5th with the $5,000 to win members-only FASTRAK World Challenge. The FASTRAK World Challenge will pay $250 to start the 40-lap feature, which will see 30 cars take the green flag. Teams that are racing on Saturday only will have the opportunity to take the track throughout the program for practice sessions.
The FASTRAK World Championship is set for Saturday, October 6th, paying $20,000 to win and $500 to start the 60-lap feature. A minimum of 30 cars will start the A-Main. Two $500 to win non-qualifiers races, presented by Arizona Sport Shirts, has been added to the program for 2018. The winner of each will have the option to take the $500 or start on the tail of the field for the FASTRAK World Championship.
Pit gates will open at 8am both days, with registration beginning at 2pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5pm with hot laps set to begin at 6pm. Weekend pit passes are $45. For more information head to vamotorspeedway.com.
