Magnolia Motor Speedway Event Starts 30 Cars, Three Wide
Columbus, Mississippi (04/10/19) - Mother Nature is picking on Magnolia Motor Speedway once again. Due to an already saturated facility and a forecast for as much three inches of rain this weekend, Magnolia Motor Speedway has made the decision to postpone the fifth annual Golden Egg Spring Nationals to April 25-27.
“We’ve had over five inches of rain in the past seven days at the track, and with more forecasted for this weekend there’s no way that we could have the track in good shape,” promoter Johnny Stokes said. “In addition, Saturday’s weather looks really bad, and I don’t want a lot of racers and fans making the trip down here for this event, and then having to spend more money to come back again at a later date for just the final night. We’ll hope for much better weather on April 25-27.”
The event, which is co-sanctioned with the Mississippi Street Stock Series and Mid-South Big-10 Street Stock Series will see Street Stocks battling for $5,000-To-Win/$400-To-Start. Their main event starts 30 cars, three wide!
Joining the program are Durrence Layne Late Models ($700-to-Win Friday and $1,000-To-Win Saturday), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($250-To-Win Friday and $300-To-Win Saturday), Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($400-To-Win Friday and $500-To-Win Saturday) and Hot Shots (Saturday night only).
There's a $100 bonus in the Factory Stock division if a driver can win both features.
Friday, April 26: Street Stocks will qualify and run heat races. Durrence Layne Late Model ($700-To-Win), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($250-To-Win), and Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($400-to-Win).
Saturday, April 27: Street Stocks will run B-Mains, Non-Qualifier Race, and Feature. Durrence Layne Late Models ($1,000-To-Win), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($300-To-Win), Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($500-To-Win) and Hot Shots.
Drivers Meeting is at 6:30 p.m each day with racing to follow.
