Lebanon, MO: There will be fireworks both on and off the track this Saturday night as the annual 4th of July Fireworks show returns to the Lebanon I-44 Speedway. There will be a full night of racing in all classes of cars, all leading up to the fireworks show after the races are completed.

“Light the Night 2010” will kick off at Noon on Saturday at Dickey’s Barbecue, as Dickey’s and I-44 Speedway have teamed up for a “BBQ Pit Party”. “We hope to have several drivers and their cars on hand for the fans see and enjoy great food at the same time,” said track manager Brennon Willard. The “BBQ Pit Party” will run from noon until 2:00 P.M. and will also have special discounts for both Dickey’s and I-44 Speedway.

Gates will open at the racetrack at 5:00 with hot laps starting early at 5:30 and ending at 6:30. The track will then host an on track autograph session at 6:30. “Autograph day at the racetrack is a perfect time for the fans to get up-close and personnel with drivers and their racecars. It was always a favorite day of mine growing up,” said announcer Zack Morgan. The races will still start at the normal 7:30 starting time, with the fireworks shooting off immediately following the completion of racing action.

All classes will be racing with the addition of the dirt style bombers. Ken Dickinson will be looking to extend his point lead in the Late Model division, as well as move up further in the standings of the ASA National Championship chase. Mike Slone has been hot of late in the Late Models and will try to make it three wins in a row this Saturday night after winning back to back features the last two weeks. Tony Jackson Jr. will be returning to the speedway looking for a visit to Monster Energy Victory Lane in the Late Model division as well as the Modifieds. Brian Brown and Ken Dickinson have both been sizzling in the Modifieds the last few weeks, but have had their hands full of late with Rookie, Michael Stake, who will look for his first pavement win this Saturday night.

The Dirt Bombers will invade I-44 Saturday night, giving many of the former Bomber drivers at the I-44 Speedway their first look at the new asphalt surface. Coca Cola Street Stocks, Pure Streets, and Chargers will also be on the card for the evening, all of which have had a different face in victory lane the past two weeks.

Following the feature races I-44 will light up the sky with one of the greatest fireworks display in the area. “We are giving a free fireworks show this Saturday!” said Willard “Fireworks have been just as much a part of the track as the racing, and we are proud to bring that tradition back to the Lebanon area.”

Gate prices will remain the same as prior events with Grandstand tickets at $10 for adults, $6 for juniors (ages 11-15) and free for kids 10 and under. Budweiser Wild Side is $12 for adults, $7 for juniors and for kids 10 and under. There is a $2 military and senior citizen discount for seniors 62 and over.
