(Gilman City, MO) The first-ever series date at Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois has been added to the 2007 WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome Late Model Series “World Tour.”

The high-banked, quarter-mile, west central Illinois facility, purchased recently by Tony Rhinberger and Mike Karhoff, will host a WDRL event on Thursday, August 9, directly following the series always-popular early August date at Freeport Raceway Park in Freeport, Illinois. “We are really excited about being able to tie in our event with another WDRL race here in Illinois,” commented Rhinberger. “We are hoping that all of the drivers who run August 8 at Freeport will continue on and be with us the next night at Quincy.”

“We have already received a great fan response for this race,” added Rhinberger. “We published it on our schedule which was released at a mall car show this past weekend and the response on our track web site and some of the other racing web sites has been very positive.” According to Rhinberger, race fans and drivers can expect plenty of competitive racing at Quincy. “This track, for years, has been known as a very competitive race track,” he said. “Fans should see a lot of side-by-side racing and plenty of lead changes.” Added Rhinberger, “The Scott family (former owners) ran the race track for over 30 years and they have given us a great facility to hopefully improve on. WDRL fans and drivers will definitely see a good race track and a fan-friendly atmosphere here at Quincy.”

The addition of the $5,000-to-win event at Quincy Raceways brings to 27 the number of dates on the 2007 WDRL schedule. Series drivers will open the season on Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, with events at Davenport Speedway and West Liberty Raceway, respectively.
