First midweek action next for EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. (June 9) – After four-plus seasons and 61 events, the EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour ventures into new territory calendar-wise with a Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-16 doubleheader at Battle Mountain Raceway.
The IMCA Modified races, which double as Evenson Law Office Ironman Challenge Series events, mark the first-ever midweek action for EQ WWMT drivers. Each feature pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifier for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Western Region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded.
Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for kids five and under accompany¬ing a paying adult. Pit passes are $25; car and driver is $65. Cost of overnight parking in the pit area is $10.
Justen Yeager has a formidable lead in the current series point standings after just three events. He’d won both tour races at Battle Mountain enroute to capturing the 2009 WWMT crown.
Ricky Alvarado topped both the feature at Battle Mountain and the series point standings in 2008. Ryan Cotrell and Cory Sample were winners there last June.

Series wins so far this season belong to Porter Smith, Travis Metz and Michael Hale. The tour resumes weekend action on Friday and Saturday, July 15-16 at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo.
