UNION, KY--The 2004 racing season will kick off on Saturday Night, April 3 at the Florence Speedway in Union, KY. On the race program will be a special opening night $2000 to win Late Model feature event. Also on the race card will be UMP Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks and Pure Stocks. Pit gates will open at 4 pm with grandstand gates at 6 pm with qualifying to start at 6:30 pm. Admission will be $12 for adults with kids (6-11) $1.
Last year's season opener saw then rookie late model driver, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN score his first career late model feature win over a stout field of entrants. This year's $2000 to win event takes on a even more special appeal as this will be the only tuneup for the late model drivers before the Easter Weekend April 9 and 10 special events. Track time will be valuable for those drivers looking to gain an edge for the $3000 to win O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar events on Friday, April 9 and the NARA $10,000 to win ESPN2 telecast on Saturday Night, April 10.
