Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (Sept. 3, 2013) - Logan Forler made great strides during the 35th annual Jackson Nationals last week at Jackson Speedway.

Forler overcame a high pill draw each night and a spot in the B Main to earn the Hard Charger Award both nights during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader. He is sixth in the championship standings - 22 points out of the top five - after the two races on the fast half mile.

"It was really hard to pass in the heat races it seemed like," he said. "For some reason I couldn't pick off any spots. Drawing a bad pill both nights, it's tough to make it straight into the feature."

Forler finished where he started - seventh in his heat race and eighth in a consolation race - on the narrow track on Friday. He was forced to use a provisional to tag the back of the feature and start 24th.

"We made the car a little bit better for the feature and tried some stuff," he said. "We didn't pick off as many spots as we hoped, but we got close to the top 10."

Forler rallied to pass the most cars and place 11th.

A similar fortune awaited him on Saturday when Forler again finished where he started - fifth - in his heat race. That placed him on the inside of the second row for a B Main, which transferred the top three to the feature.

"The track slowed down a little for the B Main and we were able to pass," he said. "The car was really good."

Forler quickly took the lead and powered to nearly a half-lap victory in the consolation. He started 18th in the main event, but again worked toward the front from the start.

"I made some minor adjustments for the main and tightened the car up a little," he said. "In (turns) one and two I could stick the bottom and nobody else could. I was kinda down there by myself and I didn't have to worry about anyone being in my way."

Forler rallied to place fourth, which was his 22nd top-five result of the season.

"It sucks having to use the provisional, but it was good to figure out the car a little bit," he said. "We learned a lot. I think that we are on a really good track for Texas because I think we have something we can go there with."

While Forler isn't sure if he is going to compete in any regional action the next couple of weeks, the next Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event is Saturday, Sept. 21, at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
