Jason Frankel, Robbie Reed, Abe Huls and Jimbo Powell all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, May 3 during Poage Auto Center Night at the Races.

Frankel made very good use of his redraw for the Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event as he started the thirty lapper on the outside of row one. Frankel jumped out to the early lead with Justin Reed in the second spot. Reed challenged Frankel throughout the event but was unable to get past the 2008 Quincy Raceways Track Champion. Frankel finished a little over a second ahead of Reed at the checkered flag followed by Robby Warner in third, Billy Genenbacher in fourth and Ron Elbe in fifth. Genenbacher and Jason Perry were the heat race winners with Lonnie Bailey taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Robbie Reed put on a dominating performance in the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event by taking the lead and the drop of the green flag and holding on through several caution periods and the furious challenges of Vance Wilson to take his first win of the 2009 season. Wilson got through traffic to challenge Reed during the closing stages of the twenty five lap main event but had to settle for second followed by Justin Reed in third, Tony Dunker in fourth and David Wietholder in fifth. Wilson, Jared Schlipman and Ryan Meyer were the heat race winners while Michael Long grabbed the checkered flag in the B-Main. David Wietholder took the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash Series.

Andrew Griffin led the first six circuits of the twenty lap Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car main event and seemed to be on his way to his first ever feature event win but Abe Huls burst that bubble as he took over the top spot on the seventh lap. Huls then held off all challengers to take the feature event win. Abe was followed to the checkered flag by cousin Doug Huls, Chris Wibbell in third, Kevin Tomlinson in fourth and Andrew Griffin in fifth. Griffin and Doug Huls were the heat race winners.

Jim Powell made it three Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks feature wins in a row. Powell took the lead from Corrie Eifert on the on the third lap and held off several challenges including those in the late stages of the event from brother Larry Powell. Larry settled for second followed by Travis Booher in third, James Leffew in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth. Travis Booher and Adam Scott were the heat race winners.
